Open Will writing portal
  1. Open web browser and type url : http://iwill.com.my
  2. Click on the menu “Write your will”
  3. Now, you will be redirected to page : http://iwill.com.my/willwriting/en/writing-a-will

  1. Fill up email address of the will writer (testator – the person whom making the will).
  2. Fill up full name of the will writer.
  3. Fill up IC Number/Passport/Police/Army ID of the will writer or any other national identification.
  4. Will Advisor ID is the IC of the Will Writing Agent. This is optional field, which can be leave blank for self-writing. ( If you would like to become a Will Writer yourself and earn extra income, please visit http://iwill.com.my/willwriting/en/will-advisor – Anyone can become a Will Writer ! )

STEP 4 : Provide more personal details

  1. Select appropriate gender from the option button.
  2. Select date of birth (DOB) from the calendar option.
  3. Select current marital status from the drop down selection list.
  4. Fill up the address as required above.
  5. Fill up the mobile number. “Area Code” text can be as 010,011,012, etc and followed by remaining number in the “Phone Number” text.
  6. Fill up the mobile number. “Area Code” text can be as 03,04,06, etc and followed by remaining number in the “Phone Number” text.
  7. Select “Next” green button to proceed to next step.
  8. Select “Back” blue button to move to previous page.

Appoint of an executor

STEP 5 : Appointing executor(s)

  1. Primary Executor define first set of people whom will be nominated by the testator to handle, manage and distribute the wealth as assigned in this will. Minimum 1 person have to be nominated to execute this will. The said person need to be informed and aware of his position as a executor. This option is selected by default.
  2. Select this option, in the case if testator want to have second list of names as secondary executors. This set of people will only perform the will execution in the absence of primary executors are not longer alive, not reachable or perform any form of denial in executing this will.
  3. Fill up the name of the executor as per their NRIC/Other ID.
  4. Fill up the relationship between executor and the testator in this field.
  5. Fill up the mobile number (reachable contact number) in this field.
  6. Fill up any important note or identification (eg. NRIC number) of the executor in this field and click on the “Add New Row” button.
  7. Select this option, if you would like everyone in the primary/secondary executor list to perform the processing of this will together in everyone’s presents.
  8. Select this option, if you would like anyone of them in the primary/secondary executor list to perform the processing of this with or without the presents of others.
  9. Select “Next” green button to proceed to next step.
  10. Select “Back” blue button to move to previous page.

Designate a guardian for your minor children

  1. Select this option, if there are no minor children.
  2. Select this option, if there are minor children but you don’t have any preference of guardians whom should take care of them till they are major.
  3. Select this option, if you have minor children and you would like to assign guardian to take care of them till they become major.
  4. Fill up the name of the guardian as per their IC/Other ID.
  5. Fill up the NRIC/Other ID of the guardian
  6. Fill up the mobile number (reachable contact number) in this field.
  7. Fill up the relationship between guardian and the testator in this field.
  8. Click on the “Add New Row”, to add the selected guardian list into the active list. You can have more than 1 guardian listed in here.
  9. If you have more than 1 set of guardians, you can fill up the secondary guardians in here.
  10. Fill up name of the children which is minor
  11. Select the relationship between the testator and the child.
  12. Specify until what age would you like the guardian to safeguard the child.
  13. Fill up any special note for both child or guardian in here.
  14. Select “Next” green button to proceed to next step.
  15. Select “Back” blue button to move to previous page.

Allocate gifts

STEP 7 : Assign gift/wealth to beneficeries

  1. Fill up the full name of the person whom should receive this wealth/gift/etc. Here after will be known as beneficiary. Beneficiary can be a individual person (family members, friends, etc) or individual organization (NGO, etc)
  2. Fill up the NRIC/Passport No of the beneficiary. If it is organization, please specify the company registration number here.
  3. Fill up the relationship of the beneficiary with testator.
  4. Specify the item which would be given to the beneficiary. This can be in the form moveable or non-movable assets (money, property, share, pet, etc).
  5. Select how the gift “share” should be proportioned with others (if any). It can be in % or exact value.
  6. Fill up the value base on the selection type of “Share”. If % the total share between all the beneficiaries should be 100%.
  7. You impose any condition or fill up any special note related to this wealth or beneficiary in this column. It is very important to provide more details on the gift on how to retrieve it in here. Example for cash Rm 10,000 –which bank & account number, for House – address, for Share – which company etc, for Safety Box – which bank location,etc.
  8. Click on the “Add New Row”, to add the selected beneficiary list into the active list. You can have more than 1 beneficiaries listed in here.
  9. If you have more than 1 set of beneficiaries, you can fill up the secondary beneficiaries in here.
  10. Select “Next” green button to proceed to next step.
  11. Select “Back” blue button to move to previous page.

Make special requests

STEP 8 : Leave burial, cremation or special note

  1. Select this option if you would like to skip this section
  2. Select “Burial” or “Cremation” option, if you have a preference or special note to be stated as part of testator will.
  3. Fill up any preference of burial or cremation. This can be testator last wishes on how his/her body should be dispersed.
  4. Fill up any note for the love ones or anyone.
  5. Select “Next” green button to proceed to next step.
  6. Select “Back” blue button to move to previous page.

Review your will

STEP 9 : Final Verification before submission and payment

  1. Verify information provided are all valid and no human typo error. Primarily the email address need to assured correct, as the final Will be delivered in respective email address.

Finally, you will receive your will in your email inbox!

  2. Completed Will will be email to the given testator’s email.

Do I need a solicitor?

The short answer is no...

In most cases it is not necessary to use a solicitor to make a will. Provided the will is worded correctly it is just as legal as if you had paid a solicitor to prepare it for you.
